How It Began

As a Muslim mother in the United States with not one, not two, not three, but FOUR daughters, finding clothes was quite a challenge. It was relatively easy when they were young, but as my oldest two entered their teen years and (alhamdulillah) adopted the hijab and modesty, the task became urgent. Their growth spurt only added to the urgency, and we needed help, FAST!

Struggling to Find Modest Clothing

Our first hurdle was finding clothes that aligned with our modest values. Many websites and stores around us seemed to offer only options with really short tops, dresses with gaping V necks, or revealing cutouts that were simply not suitable for my Muslim daughters. Layering underneath was not a preferred solution for them either.

Even when we did manage to find modest clothing, the quality was often lacking. Some options were too cheaply made, offering minimal security and durability, like the fast fashion brand Shein. Others that met our standards were located far away, making it difficult to access them in a timely manner.

It became clear that we needed a solution that combined both modesty and quality, without compromising on style or convenience.

After extensive research and recommendations from friends in similar situations, we stumbled upon a few modest fashion brands that catered specifically to the needs of Muslim women and girls. These brands understood the importance of modesty without sacrificing style, offering a range of options that were both elegant and appropriate.

The Joy of Finding the Perfect Pieces

Finally, we were able to find clothing that not only met our modesty requirements but also reflected our personal style and values. The joy on my daughters' faces when they tried on these pieces was priceless. They felt confident, comfortable, and most importantly, true to themselves.

Our journey to find modest clothing for my four daughters was not easy, but it taught us the importance of staying true to our beliefs while also embracing fashion and style.
